Course Description

‘Til Death Do Us Part' is a performance written following a series of interviews and workshops with perpetrators and survivors of domestic abuse. It was take...n around prisons and aid groups working with both survivors and perpetrators as a means of understanding reactions, responses, behaviours and attitudes. It has been used to educate people of the complexities involved in domestic abuse, the many and varied forms it can take and also works with concepts of prevention. As a theatre workshop it is used to train in the many aspects and facets of Theatre of the Oppressed in performance. In this workshop you will find yourself immersed in applied theatre in action and learn what makes these kinds of plays so different, so memorable and so effective. In this way you will see firsthand how this new and innovative approach has been used in practice.
